Contamination plot recap, spoiler-light
An apparently abandoned vessel drifts into New York Harbor carrying large shipments of coffee. Upon closer inspection, the exploration crew discovers that the cargo conceals numerous football-sized green eggs. Investigating further, they find the brutally mutilated bodies of the original ship crew.
When disturbed, these mysterious pods violently rupture, releasing a thick, toxic liquid that causes immediate bodily explosion in any living creature it touches. In response to this catastrophic threat, Colonel Stella Holmes takes charge. She connects the deadly eggs to a troubled previous Mars mission involving two astronauts.
One astronaut vanished during the expedition, while the other, Commander Hubbard, suffered a severe mental breakdown and turned to alcoholism. Recognizing the extreme danger, Hubbard agrees to assist Holmes in uncovering the conspiracy behind the Manhattan shipment. Their investigation teams them up with a cynical local law enforcement officer, Tony Aris. The trio travels to South America, tracking the sinister plot to a remote Colombian coffee plantation, unaware of the terrifying extraterrestrial forces waiting for them inside the facility.
