BEASTARS plot recap, spoiler-light
In a world where anthropomorphic carnivores and herbivores coexist, tension grips Cherryton Academy after an alpaca named Tem is murdered and devoured. Legoshi, a gentle gray wolf and drama club stagehand, navigates this uneasy society alongside his Labrador friend Jack and the red deer actor Louis. Louis eventually abandons the school to lead the Shishigumi crime syndicate, a lion-dominated group.
Meanwhile, Legoshi grows conflicted feelings for Haru, a dwarf rabbit who holds unrequited feelings for Louis. After rescuing Haru from the Shishigumi, Legoshi begins training with a giant panda physician named Gohin in the dangerous Black Market, where illegal meat is traded. The narrative builds as the student body grapples with systemic prejudice, hidden desires, and the constant threat of violence across the campus and the city beyond.
