Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions plot recap, spoiler-light
Yuuta Togashi desperately wants to leave his embarrassing middle school days of chuunibyou, where he acted as the Dark Flame Master, far behind him as he enters high school. Unfortunately, his plans for a normal life are derailed when he meets Rikka Takanashi, a classmate who loudly embraces her own delusions as the Wicked Eye. Living in the same apartment building, the two grow closer and form a club with other eccentric peers like Sanae Dekomori, Kumin Tsuyuri, and Shinka Nibutani, who also hides her own past magical persona.
Over time, Yuuta learns to tolerate and eventually accept Rikka's imaginative lifestyle, even as she searches for her absent father guided by her delusions. Tensions rise due to family pressure from Rikka's older sister Touka, who wants Rikka to let go of her fantasies and face reality. Despite these hurdles, mutual romantic feelings blossom between Yuuta and Rikka, complicated further by the arrival of Yuuta's old middle school friend Satone Shichimiya, who harbors unrequited feelings of her own.
