AHO-GIRL plot recap, spoiler-light
The anime follows the daily life of high school girl Yoshiko Hanabatake, who is exceptionally unintelligent both academically and socially. She continually drives her serious, studious neighbor and childhood friend, Akuru Akutsu, to frustration, despite Yoshiko's mother hoping the two will eventually marry. To manage the chaos, the level-headed Sayaka Sumino joins Akuru in trying to keep Yoshiko's wild behavior under control.
Meanwhile, the Public Morals Chairwoman develops an intense, repressed crush on Akuru after he accidentally compliments her, leading her to constantly stalk him while battling her own inner thoughts. Yoshiko also expands her social circle by interacting with Ryuichi Kurosaki, a delinquent who mistakenly views her as a gang leader, alongside a group of playground children, several gyaru, and various other peers and faculty members at their high school. Try as Akuru might to knock sense into her with physical force, Yoshiko always bounces back to her absurd antics, keeping every single moment entirely unpredictable.
