BNA plot recap, spoiler-light
In the twenty-first century, beastmen live alongside humans despite facing heavy persecution for their unique traits. Michiru Kagemori is a teenager who suddenly transforms into a tanuki beastman following a strange blood transfusion tied to the disappearance of her best friend, Nazuna Hiwatashi. Seeking refuge, Michiru travels to Anima City, a sanctuary established specifically for beastmen to live freely.
There, she crosses paths with Shirou Ogami, a cynical wolf beastman who serves the city mayor, Barballet Rosé. Together, Michiru and Shirou investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding her sudden transformation. Their inquiries lead them straight into a deep corporate conspiracy involving Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals.
They discover that company researchers accidentally caused Michiru and Nazuna's transformations through tainted blood. Furthermore, the company installed Nazuna as a false deity known as the Silver Wolf to manipulate the population. As Michiru digs deeper, she uncovers dark historical secrets about Shirou's true identity and an ancient tragedy called Nirvasyl.
