During a weekend retreat at an isolated lakeside estate, a group of friends gathers for what initially appears to be a standard vacation. The attendees include Josh Beeman, his partner Iris, Kat, Sergey, Eli, and Patrick. Tensions quickly surface among the group, leading to a violent confrontation when Sergey attempts to sexually assault Iris down by the lake.
In self-defense, Iris kills Sergey, returning to the house covered in blood. However, instead of offering comfort, Josh forces her to sleep using a chilling command. When Iris wakes up bound to a chair, the horrifying truth of her existence is revealed: she is an advanced companion robot rented from a robotics enterprise named Empathix, and her entire personality, emotions, and cognitive levels are managed through an application on Josh's phone.
Furthermore, Josh engineered the situation so Iris would eliminate Sergey, enabling him and Kat to plunder a massive sum of money from the safe. Escaping into the forest after boosting her mental capacity, Iris triggers a deadly chain of events involving the remaining companions.
