Detective Conan plot recap, spoiler-light
Seventeen-year-old high school detective Kudo Shinichi finds his life altered after being forced to ingest an experimental poison by mysterious men, shrinking him into a seven-year-old child now known as Conan Edogawa. Hiding his true identity to protect those he cares about, Conan lives with his childhood sweetheart Ran and her hopeless detective father, Mouri Kogoro, solving numerous difficult murder cases along the way. Later, the narrative follows a specific adventure in Hakodate, Hokkaido, where Kid the Phantom Thief announces plans to steal two historical wakizashi swords belonging to Toshizo Hijikata.
Heiji Hattori, a fellow high school detective visiting for a kendo tournament alongside Kazuha Toyama and the Mouri family, intercepts the thief. However, Kid manages to escape with one blade. Soon after, a legal advisor named Sumito Hisagaki is found murdered near the warehouse district, missing the contents of his golf bag, which investigators suspect once held the stolen sword.
As the police, Conan, and Heiji investigate further, they realize the swords are connected to a hidden fortune left by the first head of the Onoe Zaibatsu, drawing the attention of an arms dealer named Brian D. Kadokura.
