PSYCHO-PASS 3 plot recap, spoiler-light
In the futuristic society governed by the Sybil System, newly assigned inspectors Arata Shindou and Kei Mikhail Ignatov join Unit One under Mika Shimotsuki. Utilizing Arata's unique Mental Trace ability alongside veteran Enforcers, the team investigates a series of complex crimes. Their duties soon intersect with the Foreign Affairs Operations Department, led by Frederica Hanashiro, which exposes the existence of a clandestine criminal organization called Bifrost.
The secretive group pulls strings from the shadows using individuals referred to as foxes. During an investigation into a dangerous cult, Kei and Kisaragi are targeted, and Kei's wife, Maiko, gets caught in the violence. Although the cult leader is killed by Maiko, the fallout forces her into hiding as a latent criminal.
As the circle closes around Bifrost, the organization's membership shrinks through internal betrayals, revealing a personal connection to Arata's late father. Unit One allies with the Ministry to dismantle the conspiracy. Meanwhile, imprisoned former inspector Akane Tsunemori implies that Arata was chosen as her successor because they both share a rare immunity to the Sybil System.
