Spirited Away plot recap, spoiler-light
On the way to their new home, ten-year-old Chihiro Ogino and her parents stumble upon a deserted theme park. Unbeknownst to the family, this location is secretly inhabited by spirits who sleep during the day and emerge at night. While exploring, Chihiro's mother and father eat food from a street restaurant, which causes angry spirits to transform them into pigs.
A wide sea suddenly appears between the spirit realm and the human world, trapping Chihiro as the sole human in this strange domain. Fortunately, a mysterious boy named Haku appears and claims to recognize her from the past. Following his instructions, Chihiro manages to secure a job within the very bathhouse where Haku works.
