The Fix plot recap, spoiler-light
Disillusioned following the conclusion of the war in Afghanistan, a group of war-torn and disgraced ex-CIA operatives find themselves drawn into a high-stakes criminal undertaking. The protagonist, Tucker, reconnects with his former agency mentor, Larry. Larry now suffers from severe cognitive decline and memory issues, a condition that leads him to accidentally blurt out classified secrets from his past overseas assignments.
During one of these lapses, Larry reveals that over four decades prior, amidst the 1981 embassy crisis, he concealed twenty-five million dollars inside a hotel wall located in Tehran, Iran. Seeing an opportunity for a massive payday, Tucker decides to reassemble his old squad for a completely rogue and highly illegal heist mission targeting the Iranian capital. The core conflict of the setup revolves around the immense danger and logistics of infiltrating a hostile foreign nation to recover the hidden fortune. As the operatives navigate the perilous environment, they discover that getting the money out of the country will test their skills, patience, and tactical expertise to the absolute limit.
