Transformers One plot recap, spoiler-light
Transformers One explores the era before the legendary Cybertronian civil war, focusing on Orion Pax and D-16. Operating as simple, cogless laborers in the subterranean mining tunnels of Iacon, the two close companions endure difficult conditions while extracting Energon under the watchful eye of overseer Darkwing. The governing elite is led by Sentinel Prime, who publicly claims to search the planet's barren surface for the missing Matrix of Leadership.
Seeking to prove their worth beyond mining, Orion Pax, D-16, their former supervisor Elita-1, and the odd incinerator worker B-127 embark on an unauthorized journey to the surface. Guided by an emergency beacon, the team locates the deactivated ancient elder Alpha Trion alongside the remains of the fallen Primes. Upon awakening, the ancient figure discloses that Sentinel Prime assassinated the genuine leaders, deliberately stole the transformation cogs of regular citizens to subjugate them, and bargained with alien invaders known as the Quintessons. Armed with newfound transformation cogs bestowed by Alpha Trion, the quartet vows to expose Sentinel's corrupt rule.
