Night of the Zoopocalypse plot recap, spoiler-light
Set in early 1990s Vancouver at the sprawling Colepepper Zoo, a young timber wolf named Gracie lives under the strict guidance of her paranoid elder, Gramma Abigale, who warns the pack never to trust outsiders. When a strange meteor crashes into the Kuddle Korner petting zoo one evening, a pink rabbit consumes space debris and becomes patient zero for a horrific zombie-like infection. The contagion quickly spreads through the grounds, turning the resident animals into gelatinous mutants known as Gum-Beasts.
Gracie and a gruff, newly arrived mountain lion named Dan are tranquilized and locked in the veterinary station just as the chaos erupts. After escaping confinement, Gracie and Dan are joined by a colorful band of uninfected survivors, including a pompous proboscis monkey, a sharp-tongued ostrich, a feisty capybara, a boastful lemur, and an adorable baby pygmy hippo. The mismatched group must navigate treacherous utility tunnels, evade infected former enclosure mates, and figure out how to stop the deranged mutant leader before the entire zoological park falls to the spreading virus.
