The TRON movie franchise spans three feature films exploring interactions between the human world and digital realms. The connection begins when game maker Flynn is beamed inside a digital world, continues as his son Sam investigates his disappearance and enters The Grid, and progresses when a sophisticated program named Ares is sent into the real world. Watching these entries in release order naturally follows the chronological events of Flynn, his son Sam, and the program Ares.
