Anomie plot recap, spoiler-light
In the crime thriller Anomie, forensic officer Zaara lives with her fragile younger brother Ziyan, who struggles with mental health following their parents' tragic passing. The narrative accelerates when Ziyan vanishes and turns up dead at the exact spot where their parents died. Authorities quickly classify the incident as a suicide due to his medical history.
Refusing to accept the official narrative, Zaara uncovers troubling discrepancies, including a misaligned voice message and suspicious chemical traces in his body. She links these anomalies to other mysterious deaths sharing identical forensic signatures. Meanwhile, ACP Ghibran pursues an independent investigation into corrupted psychiatric records, eventually directing law enforcement toward a neuroscientist named Sanjay Hegde.
Sanjay is researching the preservation of human consciousness through extreme trauma, a concept he calls the Equation of Death. Following a tense confrontation near a windmill, authorities capture Sanjay and uncover a hidden basement laboratory filled with incriminating evidence. During the interrogation, Sanjay confesses to abducting human subjects for his dark scientific trials and exposes Zaara's boyfriend Alby as his primary insider accomplice.
