Berserk (2016) plot recap, spoiler-light
The narrative follows Guts, frequently known as the Black Swordsman, as he wages a brutal campaign against demonic foes. Years prior, Guts fought alongside the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary group led by Griffith. That companionship shattered during a catastrophic event called the Eclipse, wherein Griffith sacrificed his loyal followers to attain immense supernatural power as a member of the God Hand.
Only Guts and his lover Casca managed to survive that nightmare, though Casca suffered a severe psychological collapse that stripped away her memories and sanity, leaving her deeply vulnerable. Both survivors bear brand marks that continuously attract malevolent spirits and monstrous entities. While Casca is left in the safe care of the blacksmith Godo, along with Erica and Rickert, Guts departs on a solitary path of vengeance to hunt down the Apostles and ultimately destroy Griffith.
As time passes, the wandering warrior is accompanied by a spirited elf named Puck. Together, they navigate a dangerous fantasy world fraught with dark horrors, while grand supernatural prophecies orchestrated by the God Hand steadily draw closer to their terrifying realization.
