Fire Force plot recap, spoiler-light
Set in the Tokyo Empire during the year 198 of the Solar Era, society faces a terrifying phenomenon where ordinary people suffer from spontaneous human combustion, transforming into destructive living infernos known as Infernals. To combat this threat, specialized fire brigades are established, bringing together individuals with unique pyrokinesis abilities. Among them is Shinra Kusakabe, a young third-generation pyrokinetic youth burdened by the nickname Devil's Footprints due to a tragic childhood fire that seemingly claimed his mother and younger brother.
Shinra joins Special Fire Force Company 8, a unit dedicated not only to putting victims to rest but also to investigating potential corruption among the other independent companies. As Company 8 delves deeper into their duties, they uncover a sinister doomsday cult called the White-Clad. This shadowy organization is actively creating Infernals and engineering chaos across the empire.
Shinra soon discovers that the fire from his past was actually a cover used by the cult to abduct his brother Sho. Ultimately, Company 8 learns that the White-Clad plan to use eight special individuals to trigger another global catastrophe mirroring the ancient disaster.
