Ghost in the Cell plot recap, spoiler-light
Journalist Dimas investigates an illegal nickel mining operation in Borneo where several workers died mysteriously. After his boss rejects his article to protect the publication's economic image, the boss is brutally murdered, and a horrified Dimas is framed for the crime. Dimas is subsequently sent to Labuhan Angsana prison, a facility plagued by inmate hostility, corruption, and guard oppression.
Alongside Anggoro, Six, Wildan, Pendi, and Irfan, Dimas faces a terrifying new threat when prisoners begin turning up mutilated. Six discovers he can see auras, and Wildan deduces that an invisible entity is hunting inmates with the most negative auras. Attempts to keep everyone's moods artificially positive fail after the dance teacher is murdered, proving someone will always possess the lowest aura.
The inmates realize Dimas brought the supernatural presence from Borneo. Figuring out that the killings are merely a way for the entity to recharge while hunting a specific target linked to Dimas, the prisoners plot to reach the corrupt politician housed in the facility's luxury block who orchestrated the deadly mining disaster.
