Downtrodden corporate strategist Linda Liddle is passed over for a major promotion by the new CEO, Bradley Preston, in favor of a recent hire named Donovan. Despite this slight, Bradley invites Linda on a business trip to Bangkok to assist with a company merger. During the flight, Donovan humiliates Linda by broadcasting her old audition tape for a reality show.
Suddenly, a severe storm strikes the aircraft, causing explosive decompression. When Donovan tries to strangle Linda for a seat, she stabs him with a fork before the rest of the passengers and crew are violently sucked out into the sky as the plane goes down over the Gulf of Thailand. Linda wakes up on an isolated island alongside Bradley, who is injured and dependent on her for survival.
Despite their shared tragedy, Bradley continues treating her as a subordinate. Linda retaliates by abandoning him briefly, taking charge of their survival through resourcefulness and hunting, gradually reversing their power dynamic while hiding her true intentions and the existence of a way off the island.
