HELLO WORLD plot recap, spoiler-light
Set in Kyoto in 2024, the Japanese government utilizes an infinite-capacity quantum computer named Alltale to record the city's architecture and cultural data through drones. An indecisive high school student named Naomi Katagaki encounters a mysterious man who reveals himself to be adult Naomi from ten years in the future. Adult Naomi explains that he has accessed Alltale to alter recorded history and save his classmate, Ruri Ichigyō, who was struck by lightning and left comatose.
Calling his older self Sensei, teenage Naomi agrees to assist. Sensei gifts him a special power called God's Hand, materialized through a yatagarasu, allowing him to create items with simple chemical structures. Guided by his older self, teenage Naomi grows closer to Ruri, and they eventually fall in love.
When the night of the incident arrives, Naomi attempts to prevent the accident by keeping Ruri away from the destined spot. However, the system's Homeostatic System activates, deploying kitsune men to correct the timeline. Using a black hole, Naomi successfully erases the kitsune men and the lightning bolt, saving Ruri and rewriting the recorded data.
