It Was Just an Accident plot recap, spoiler-light
A man with a prosthetic leg accidentally hits and kills a dog while driving with his family at night. Seeking repairs, he visits a local garage where Vahid, an ethnic Azerbaijani mechanic, hears his prosthetic squeak and suspects he is his former prison torturer, Eghbal. The next day, Vahid kidnaps the driver and takes him to the desert to bury him.
The captive denies the accusation, pointing out his recent scars. Doubting himself, Vahid seeks corroboration from other survivors. He visits Salar, who sends him to a photographer named Shiva.
Shiva smells the captive and suspects he is Eghbal, though they were blindfolded during imprisonment. Goli, an engaged woman present at the shoot, also reveals she was tortured by Eghbal but cannot be certain. They drug the captive, plug his ears, and consult Hamid, Shiva's former partner.
Hamid immediately identifies the man by his legs and wants to kill him immediately, but Vahid and Shiva insist on a testimony. Interrupted by a phone call from the captive's daughter, the group rushes the pregnant wife to the hospital, where she safely delivers a baby.
