Other Mommy plot recap, spoiler-light
In the horror film Other Mommy, seven-year-old Isabella Martin, called Bella, feels alienated as she tries to fit in at a new school while observing the deep rift between her parents. Her mother, Ursula, is heavily invested in her demanding corporate work, whereas her father, Russell, known as Russ, is an unemployed househusband dedicated to raising Bella. The domestic strain worsens when a demonic apparition mirroring Ursula starts visiting Bella, demanding to enter her heart.
As this malicious duplicate, dubbed Other Mommy, stalks Bella and bends reality, the family flees to stay with Ursula's companion Frank. Suspicion erupts when Russ finds clues suggesting Ursula is unfaithful, prompting the entity to manipulate Bella into wishing Frank gone before violently executing him. After surviving surreal ambushes at a shopping center play area and a mystical lake, Bella is brought to her grandmother Ruth, a woman familiar with paranormal phenomena. When paranormal specialists fail to banish the shape-shifting trickster during a deadly ritual, the family realizes they can no longer run from the creature.
