Project Y plot recap, spoiler-light
In the gritty underworld of Seoul's Gangnam district, Yoon Mi-sun balances work as a florist with her nocturnal role as a popular hostess named Ye-seul. Her longtime housemate and closest friend, Lee Do-kyung, works beside her in the night scene as an illegal driver. Together, they endure the district's hazards in hopes of saving enough funds to escape their exhausting routines forever.
That dream is cruelly shattered when an unscrupulous crime syndicate leader named To deprives them of their hard-earned nest egg through a crooked property scheme centered around the Hwajoong Market area. Left with nothing, the pair resolves to fight back when Do-kyung uncovers the hiding spot of To's illicit hoard through the gangster's cast-aside wife, Ha-kyung. Entering the syndicate's territory to retrieve cash, Mi-sun and Do-kyung instead stumble upon a far richer prize of eight billion won in gold bullion. Taking the fortune ignites a ruthless pursuit across the city, spearheaded by To and his violent enforcer Bull, turning the women's struggle for financial freedom into a brutal survival contest.
