Guru plot recap, spoiler-light
Raghuraman grows up in a peaceful village where Hindus and Muslims live together until political instigators spark deadly riots that destroy his family. Seeking revenge, he joins a Hindu extremist gang and takes part in an operation to target Muslims hiding inside a Guru's ashram. Once inside the ashram, he encounters Vaidehi, who encourages him to try meditation.
As he meditates, his consciousness shifts entirely into a strange, alternate realm where every inhabitant is completely blind. In this realm, the populace firmly believes that sight is a dangerous myth and a punishable blasphemy. Raghuraman befriends Ramanagan after saving his life and persistently tries to convince the society that a visible world truly exists.
He eventually discovers the source of their blindness is an addictive local fruit and accidentally blinds himself by eating it. Sentenced to death for his heresy, he is forced to consume the toxic seeds, which unexpectedly restore his normal vision upon waking.
