Practical Magic 2 plot recap, spoiler-light
In Massachusetts, the Owens family deals with a fatal curse where any man who falls in love with an Owens woman dies. Sally and Gillian previously thought they broke it, but Sally's second husband Gary dies soon after their wedding. Grief-stricken, Sally rejects magic and makes her daughters, Kylie and Antonia, forget about it.
Years later, Aunt Jet discovers the Book of Raven to break the curse before passing away. After Jet's death, Kylie tells her boyfriend Gideon she loves him, and he is struck by a car the next morning, falling into a coma. Confronting her mother, Kylie learns the truth about the family curse.
Angered by the deception, Kylie steals the Book of Raven and follows visions to England. Sally and Gillian pursue her, enlisting a professor named Ian Wright whom they free from a curse. Kylie reaches Thornfield, Maria Owens' birthplace, and encounters Tom Bailey, who encourages her quest. However, Sally and Gillian find evidence at Tom's house that he attempted to practice dark magic and was Ian's apprentice.
