In the horror mystery sequel Scream 7, the bloodshed begins when a new Ghostface murders fans at the infamous home of Stu Macher. Soon after, Sidney Prescott is forced out of her quiet life in Pine Grove, Indiana, when Ghostface targets her teenage daughter, Tatum. A chilling videocall introduces an aged, scarred Stu Macher who threatens the family, prompting police protection and frantic attempts to stay safe.
After an attack at Sidney's home where Mark Evans is injured, Gale Weathers, along with Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin, arrive to help. Following an initial confrontation where an escaped mental patient named Karl Gibbs is killed while wearing the mask, the real terror escalates. Stu contacts Sidney again during a televised interview with Gale, warning that Tatum and her friends are in danger at a local tavern.
Soon, multiple people are ambushed, friendships shatter under suspicion, and Tatum discovers a laptop running deepfake software designed to mimic Stu's appearance. The night spirals into chaos as the true masterminds execute their elaborate trap.
