In The Drama, a happily engaged couple named Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson find their wedding week derailed by a series of escalating complications. The trouble begins when they discover their wedding DJ, Pauline, using drugs in a public park. While debating whether to dismiss her with best man Mike and matron of honor Rachel, a casual conversation about past mistakes spirals into a series of deeply unsettling confessions.
Mike and Rachel admit to severe past wrongdoings, while Charlie confesses to intense cyberbullying. Emma stuns the entire group by revealing that she planned a school shooting as a teenager and that her hearing loss actually resulted from firing a practice rifle too close to her ear. This revelation deeply alienates Rachel, whose cousin Samantha was paralyzed in a shooting incident.
Although Emma explains that she abandoned the plot, turned toward gun control advocacy, and found purpose, the confession casts a heavy shadow over their upcoming nuptials. Strain builds as Emma suffers from distressing nightmares and Charlie becomes increasingly paranoid about her psychological state.
