Gohan plot recap, spoiler-light
The drama Gohan chronicles the decade-long journey of a white stray puppy with a pink nose. Initially surviving outside a convenience store in Si Racha, Chonburi, his life transforms when a retiring Japanese automotive engineer named Hiro adopts and names him Gohan. Following Hiro's tragic death from COVID-19, the canine falls into the hands of Goong, an abusive shelter operator who exploits stray animals for online donations.
Namcha, an undocumented migrant worker from Myanmar, eventually rescues the dogs and flees with Gohan toward Bangkok. During their travels, she renames him Brownie after spotting a dessert at a night market. When Goong tracks them down and pressures Namcha with the promise of a work permit, Namcha places Gohan on a train and sacrifices her own freedom by exposing Goong to immigration authorities, leading to her deportation back to Myanmar while leaving behind video evidence that harms the abusive enterprise.
