Solo Mio plot recap, spoiler-light
Solo Mio follows American schoolteacher Matt Taylor as his meticulously planned Italian wedding falls apart when his fiancée Heather abandons him at the altar with a brief explanatory note. Faced with non-refundable bookings, Matt chooses to press on with the itinerary by himself, turning a romantic vacation into a solo adventure across Italy. During his travels, he finds solace and perspective through encounters with two contrasting married couples: Julian and Megan, who have divorced and remarried each other three times, and Neil and Donna, who openly admit their relationship is far from flawless.
While frequenting a local café, Matt's wallet is recovered from mischievous local children by the café's charming owner, Gia. Gia generously offers to guide him through the city, and a warm connection quickly develops between them. Matt keeps the painful truth of his recent heartbreak hidden as they grow closer. Eventually, Gia invites Matt and his newly made friends to a countryside villa, where Matt discovers that Gia is the niece of legendary singer Andrea Bocelli.
